At a glance
- Budget & forecast plan: 1, 3, 6 or 12 months; budget = last year + growth target, checked against Shelly's forecast
- 13-week forecast: 4, 8 or 13 weeks with an 80% range from backtests
- Weekly trading, category review, roster & labour, stock & reorder, waste & shrink
- Industry packs: consumer electronics, wholesale, warehousing, production
- Every report: whole store or any category; approvals section with sign-off lines
How it works
- Python computes every number (pandas, backtested forecasts); nothing is written by an AI.
- The report page renders the same spec three ways: Print (white paper), Dark (Shelly look) and Present (one section per screen, arrow keys).
- ⬇ PDF opens the print dialog: choose Save as PDF. On a computer, `python -m shelly report all --pdf` writes PDFs directly.
- Excel sheets: Dashboard (Category dropdown, KPI tiles, charts), Model (all formulas: SUMIFS, INDEX-MATCH, EDATE), Pivot (real PivotTables), Raw (Excel Table), Lookup, Assumptions (blue inputs), Notes (method, data dictionary, sign-off).
- Change the Category cell or any blue assumption and the whole workbook recalculates.
How to read it
- Green/red KPI values show good/bad against target.
- Low/High = where the forecast has landed 8 times out of 10.
- Approvals list what needs a person's decision before it counts.
Limits & safeguards
- Budgets need 12+ months of history for last-year comparisons.
- Horizons snap to the nearest ready-made plan (e.g. 5 months → 6); the Excel lets you set any number of months.
- Phone previews show numbers because formulas carry cached values; open in Excel to use PivotTables.
